Welcome to Fun on the Spectrum

Finally, a place where your child can be themselves!

Fun on the Spectrum is a judgment-free place where children can play, explore, and connect—and where families can feel understood and supported. A sensory-friendly indoor recreation center designed primarily for autistic children ages 4–14, while also welcoming other neurodivergent children and their families.

Coming soon to the Charlotte, NC Area!

A different kind of place to play.

Traditional play environments aren't always designed with neurodivergent children in mind. Noise, crowds, sensory overload, transitions—and sometimes simply feeling misunderstood—can turn what should be a fun family outing into a stressful experience. We're creating something different. Children can move, explore, create, connect with others, or take a break when they need one. Parents and caregivers remain onsite while our autism-informed team provides an additional layer of support. *This is recreation—not ABA therapy, daycare, or a drop-off program.

WHAT'S INSIDE

Stay close without staying hypervigilant.

Fun on the Spectrum is being thoughtfully designed so children have different ways to play while parents and caregivers remain nearby, involved, and supported.

Thoughtfully Designed Play Environment

A planned fully enclosed play area with double-gated entry and safety-conscious design, giving children room to explore while adding an extra layer of security and peace of mind for families.

Quiet & Sensory Spaces

Planned calming spaces will give children an option when they need less stimulation, a quiet break, or simply a different kind of environment before returning to play when they're ready.

Parent Lounge with open sightlines

Now you have options! Join your child in play or spend time in a comfortable nearby space designed with visibility into the play environment. You remain on-site but also enjoy a meaningful experience where you are not navigating alone.

Autism-Informed Support Team

We believe families deserve staff who understand the children they're supporting. Our goal is to build a consistent, autism-informed team trained in sensory needs, communication differences, safe transitions, emotional regulation, de-escalation, elopement prevention and response, and inclusive play. Our team will work alongside parents and caregivers to help create a safe, welcoming and positive recreation experience.
